Everyone thinks it will be hard
Each in their own way.
Lunches, getting up early,
Finding their classes on time.
Getting bullied, having no money,
Or even forgetting homework.
Make a mistake, embarrassment;
But that’s not what it is for me.
Knowing your not there, when I get
Back from school, listening to all
I say. You give advice, listen, and
Help. You won’t be there anymore.
People hear us fight, call it hate. Or
Maybe even dislike. Call it what
They want, I call it,
Sibling love.
You make me laugh, when
The time comes for laughter.
Sometimes it seems rough,
Fighting battles against parents.
You are there for me, ready
To help me fight. Explaining things
I need to know. I hope
I really hope; I learn it right.
I’m going to high school
Without you here, and
I might hear in my mind,
“You’ll do fine, just smile.”
